The Postponed Victorian Branch AGM and technical evening will now be held in the format of a mixed videoconference and webinar and will mark the ACA’s first Online event. The Videoconference portion will feature Candice Blackney delivering the Presidents report, elections for the 2020 Victorian Branch Committee and the floor will be open for any member questions and discussions. If you are unable to attend, please complete the attached proxy form, which must be submitted by Tuesday 13/03/20. The second half of the night is a technical event ‘Hidden defects and defective process control’. We are fortunate to have Peter Wilson from Nuffield group presenting his topic related to defects and management of infrastructure. Now that we are all under lockdown, Peter has kindly agreed to present our first technical webinar. Subsequently, this event will be open to all, so feel free to register regardless of your branch.

The Queensland Branch of the ACA has organised an intimate plant tour of the Valmont Coatings facility at Carole Park. Located in the western suburbs in the Wacol Industrial Estate, Valmont Coatings, Industrial Galvanizers – Carole Park offers over 40 years of experience in design for the galvanizing of steel. The facility is equipped with a 12.5m structural galvanizing kettle as well as a 4.5m centrifuge (spinning) kettle to accommodate steel of all sizes.
This will be a fascinating afternoon for all those interested in galvanising.

The COVID-19 global health crisis has impacted all our lives to an extent not experienced this century. While many of the challenges we face are universal, every industry, organisation and business is unique and the complications and opportunities that have arisen are varied. To explore how this crisis is affecting those within the corrosion mitigation industry, the ACA will be hosting an interactive webinar panel featuring a selection of guests speakers from different industry subsets representing Contractors, Asset Owners, Consultants, Coating Suppliers and Equipment Suppliers.
Our Panellists will address some of the key areas of interest and concern for our diverse membership during an interactive session aimed to facilitate audience interaction.
