The Victorian Branch of ACA invites all of our members to attend the International Webinar which will have 2 speakers, firstly discussing a failure investigation of MIC Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) in the North Sea Oil and Gas Production and secondly the issues involved in commissioning, maintaining and repairing ICCP equipment in remote locations around the world.
This online event is not the one to miss and will provide insights into interesting corrosion topics around the world.

Dr. Torben Lund Skovhus is Docent & Project Manager at VIA University College and CEO at Skovhus BioConsult in Aarhus, Denmark. He undertakes applied research on a range of aspects including Industrial microbiology, applied biotechnology, corrosion management, oilfield microbiology, water treatment and safety, reservoir souring, and microbial corrosion. He will be presenting on the topic, Learnings from Failure Investigations of Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) in the North Sea Oil and Gas Production – In the Light of the Urgent Need of Bridging Our Extensive Knowledge to the Renewable Energy Sector.
Richard Brodribb has wide experience in the design and manufacture of a wide range of equipment including power transformers, instrument transformers and high current and high voltage dc supplies, supplied to the resources, utilities, Defence and infrastructure sectors. He has been an active member of the ACA since the 1990s and is presently Treasurer of the Victorian Branch. He is also a member of the Australian Electrolysis Committee technical group. Richard has carried out grant-funded research into the electrical characteristics of cathodic protection systems, leading to the development of new methods of measurement in this field. He has authored a number of single and joint papers on cathodic protection, presented at over 10 National and International Australasian Corrosion Conferences and was the recipient of the ACA’s David Whitby Award in 2001. He has more recently been instrumental in opening a new daughter company in Sri Lanka which supplies both Sri Lankan and Asian markets with Australian technology transferred to Sri Lanka. He will be presenting on the topic, Commissioning, maintenance and repair of CP Systems in remote locations.
