The Tasmanian branch of the ACA, in conjuction with the Royal Institution of Naval Architects are proud to present a guest lecture from ACA stalwart and Australian Stainless Steel Development Association (ASSDA) Technical Specialist Dr Graham Sussex.
Graham’s lecture will focus on the selection and use of stainless steel in seawater (especially in piping), the importance of correct procedures and practices in fabrication and the usefulness of Copper Nickel alloys.

Dr Graham Sussex – Graham has over 35 years experience in hands-on consulting experience in corrosion and materials investigations with a focus on stainless steels and nickel alloys. Since 2001 he has been the Technical Specialist for the Australian Stainless Steel Development Association (ASSDA) providing technical advice, giving presentations and writing articles. Since 2014, this has included work for the Nickel Institute. His consulting work includes design and problem-solving at desalination plants around Australia as well as industrial and marine applications of stainless steels in immersed and atmospheric exposures.
