When it comes to the lining and coating of pipelines for the water industry, polyurethane is very often the most efficient and cost-effective coating system for both new pipeline construction and pipe rehabilitation. Water pipelines have a very important role throughout today’s world; they are basically pipeline highways transporting water over long distances from the source to the consumer. With the help of Jim Cairns and Jeff Stewart of ITW Polymers Coatings-Futura, we take look at the role polyurethanes play in the water pipeline industry and how the characteristics of these coatings meet the unique needs of steel water pipes.
